Yesterday, the S'Pekin Dragons competed at the IHSA Sectional Speech Tournament, and out of 30 schools placed 3rd overall! Also, we had SIX STUDENTS QUALIFY TO STATE!!!
Those students are:
Caileigh Alexander (senior) & Michael Bennett (junior) - SECTIONAL CHAMPIONS in Dramatic Duet Acting!
Julia McCammon (senior) - 3rd place in Dramatic Interp!
Madison Rudloff (junior) & Kaitlyn Heaton (sophomore) - 2nd place in Humorous Duet Acting!
Madison Rudloff (junior) - 2nd place in Original Comedy!
Alyssa Stuart (senior) - 3rd place in Original Oratory!
State will take place this coming Friday and Saturday at the Peoria Civic Center.
Please congratulate these students when you see them. They put in a LOT of hours to get to this point.
Congratulations to Paige Calvert for being the Overall Female Solo Competition Champion, Collin Logsdon for winning the group Outstanding Performer Award, and The Noteables for winning the People's Choice Award and putting on a fantastic performance at the Manteno Main Event Show Choir competition tonight! #dragonpride!
